Mr S. Arun works as an Associate Fellow in the Social Transformation Division of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). At TERI, he is engaged in action research projects in the field of energy poverty, rural energy access and rural infrastructure planning. Over the last three years, he has worked with diverse market and non-market actors for setting up viable value chains for improved biomass cookstoves and solar lighting technology in central India. While doing so, he has researched on cooking technology, sustainable business models and factors driving the adoption of improved cookstoves in rural households.

Arun holds a Bachelor's degree in agriculture and a Master's degree in forest management with a specialization in conservation and livelihood management. Before joining TERI, he has briefly worked in the Government of Kerala on watershed development projects, and at the University of Vermont on ecological economics.
